Supplements — Electrolytes

Electrolyte powder manufacturing, from formula to packed serving.

We develop the mineral profile, flavour and pack with you, source the raw materials and place production with the specialist powder blending and filling partner that suits the product — from multi-serve jars to single-serve stick packs.

The category

A powder that has to dissolve, taste right and stay dry.

Electrolyte products are blends of mineral salts, usually with a flavour and sweetening system, sold as powders to be mixed with water. The format looks simple, but salts are often hygroscopic, flavours must mask mineral notes, and the powder has to dissolve cleanly.

Those properties shape the formula, the pack and the choice of manufacturer. Single-serve stick packs, in particular, need a partner with suitable filling equipment and moisture control.

Formulation decisions

The decisions that shape an electrolyte product.

Defined during development so samples, scale-up and quotes all work from one specification.

Mineral profile
Which minerals are included and in what proportion, defined by the product concept and the target market's requirements.
Raw-material form
Each mineral is available in several salt forms that differ in taste, solubility, hygroscopicity and cost.
Flavour and sweetening system
Flavours mask mineral notes; sweeteners — or none — shape taste, label and positioning.
Serving format
Single-serve sachets or stick packs, or multi-serve jars and doypacks with a scoop.

Dosage-form options

Packs used for electrolyte ranges.

Most electrolyte ranges use one or more of these packs. Stick packs and sachets are produced through partners equipped for them.

  • 01

    Stick packs and sachets

Exact single servings for on-the-go use, sampling and multi-pack cartons.

  • 02

    Jars and tubs

Multi-serve with scoop; strong shelf presence and lower cost per serving.

  • 03

    Doypacks and pouches

Lighter multi-serve packs suited to e-commerce and refills.

Serving format

Single-serve or multi-serve.

The serving format shapes filling, packaging, cost and how the product is sold.

Stick pack / sachet

Single-serve

  • Exact dose per serving
  • Portable; suits sampling and multi-pack cartons
  • Higher packaging cost per serving
  • Needs a stick pack or sachet line and good powder flow

Jar / doypack

Multi-serve

  • Scoop dosing
  • Lower cost per serving
  • Strong shelf and e-commerce presence
  • Pack is opened repeatedly — closure and barrier matter

Ingredients & production

Ingredient and production considerations.

Resolved with suppliers and the manufacturing partner before scale-up.

Solubility

Salt forms and particle size affect how quickly and clearly the powder dissolves.

Hygroscopicity and moisture

Many mineral salts absorb moisture, causing caking. Production environment, flow aids and pack barrier are chosen together.

Powder flow

Flow affects fill accuracy, especially in small single-serve stick packs.

Taste masking

Mineral notes need a well-developed flavour system; natural flavour options may limit choice and change cost.

Label alignment

Declared amounts, ingredient names and any claims are aligned with market requirements and the brand's regulatory advisers.

Partner-dependent variables

MOQ, batch size and lead time.

These depend on the partner, the blend, the number of flavours and the pack. We explain the drivers and compare real quotes.

  • 01

    Minimum order quantity

Set by blender size and pack format. Several flavours split volume across batches.

  • 02

    Batch size

Matched to forecast, storage and shelf-life.

  • 03

    Lead time

Driven by raw materials, flavours, pack components and production slots.

  • 04

    Unit cost

Shaped by formula, flavour system and pack — compared per serving.

Packaging

Packaging and moisture barrier.

Laminate choice for stick packs and doypacks, and closure and liner choice for jars, determine how well a hygroscopic blend is protected.

Pack, barrier and filling line are specified together, then coordinated with the filling partner.

Quality & documentation

Specification, documentation and release.

Each product is produced against a written specification. Raw-material documentation and certificates of analysis are reviewed before production, and batches are released against the agreed specification.

Quality systems and certifications are held by the relevant manufacturing partner and checked against the product and target market before selection.

Quality framework

Standards represented across our manufacturing partners.

We work with certified specialist manufacturing partners and prioritise partners operating under relevant quality and food-safety standards. Certifications are held by the respective partners; applicability is confirmed for each product and manufacturing route.

Partner standards · where applicable

  • GMP

    Good Manufacturing Practice

  • ISO 22000

    Food safety management

  • FSSC 22000

    Food safety system certification

  • HACCP

Hazard analysis & critical control points

  • EKO

    Organic certification

Origin signal

Made in EU

Production within our European partner network. A positioning signal — not a certification.

Certifications are held by individual manufacturing partners where applicable. AVENTRO does not itself issue or hold these certifications.

Manufacturer selection

Choosing an electrolyte powder manufacturer.

Blending and filling partners differ in equipment and focus. We compare on:

  • 01

    Blending capability

Equipment suited to the batch size and homogeneity requirements.

  • 02

    Single-serve filling

Stick pack or sachet lines where the product needs them.

  • 03

    Moisture control

Production environment and handling suited to hygroscopic salts.

  • 04

    Flavour development

Ability to develop or adjust the flavour system with you.

  • 05

    Documentation

Quality system and certifications appropriate for the target market.

  • 06

    Commercial terms

MOQ, unit cost and lead time compared on one specification.

Product route

Custom formulation or private label.

01

Custom electrolyte formulation

Your own mineral profile, flavours and pack, developed and sampled before production is placed.

02

Private label from an existing formula

A faster route where a suitable ready formula exists. Actual formula availability depends on the selected specialist partner and is confirmed per project.

Manufacturing route

From brief to released batch.

  1. Step 01

    Brief

Concept, mineral direction, flavours, pack format, market and volumes.

  2. Step 02

    Development

Profile, flavour and samples refined until approved.

  3. Step 03

    Sourcing & partner

Salts and flavours sourced; blending and filling partners compared.

  4. Step 04

    Production

Materials and packaging aligned to the production slot.

  5. Step 05

    Release

Batch released against specification, packed and dispatched.

The AVENTRO role

How we coordinate an electrolyte project.

AVENTRO is not tied to a single production facility. We define the product with you, source the raw materials, select the specialist manufacturing partner from our European network that fits the format and volume, and coordinate production through to released, packed goods.
