Manufacturing — Core format
Powder supplement manufacturing, from blend to packed SKU.
Powders carry doses no capsule can hold and give brands freedom in flavour and serving size. We place your powder supplement with the specialist blending and filling partner that fits the formula, the pack and the volume — and coordinate it to a market-ready SKU.
The format
Large doses, flexible serving, real development work.
Powder supplements are blended from actives, carriers and — where needed — flavours and sweeteners, then filled into jars, doypacks, pouches or single-serve stick packs. The format suits gram-level doses and products consumers mix into water, shakes or food.
That flexibility brings work a capsule does not need. Homogeneity, flavour, solubility and flow all have to be right before scale-up, and the pack has to protect a product that is opened and closed many times.

When it fits
Where powders outperform capsules.
Brands choose powders when the dose, the usage moment or the product experience calls for it.
- Gram-level doses
- Proteins, collagen, electrolytes and many amino acids are dosed in grams — impractical in capsules.
- Mixed into a drink
- Products consumed as a drink before, during or after exercise, or as a daily routine.
- Flavour as part of the brand
- Flavour becomes a product feature and a reason to repurchase.
- Range extensions
- One base formula in several flavours or pack sizes, without a new manufacturing route.
Product examples
Products commonly made as powders.
Product examples are indicative. Suitability and formulation are confirmed per product with the selected partner.
- 01
Electrolyte powders
Mineral salts balanced with flavour and solubility, often in single-serve stick packs.
- 02
Collagen powders
High-dose products where solubility, neutral taste and pack size drive the specification.
- 03
Sports nutrition powders
Pre-workout, recovery and amino-acid products where flavour and mixability are central.
- 04
Functional blends
Greens, botanical and multi-ingredient blends where homogeneity across ingredients matters.
- 05
Vitamin and mineral powders
Low-dose actives distributed evenly within a larger carrier blend.
Pack decision
Jar, doypack or stick pack.
The pack is a technical and commercial decision. These factors usually decide it.
| Factor | Jar / tub | Doypack / pouch | Stick pack |
|---|---|---|---|
| Serving | Multi-serve, scoop | Multi-serve, scoop | Single-serve, exact dose |
| Shelf presence | Strong retail presence | Flexible, flat-front display | Boxed multi-packs, sampling |
| Material & shipping | Rigid; more volume to ship | Lighter; less material | Light; carton for retail |
| Moisture barrier | Closure and liner dependent | Laminate dependent | Laminate dependent; sealed per dose |
| Typical use | Large sizes, sports and protein | E-commerce, refills, functional | Electrolytes, on-the-go, trials |
Technical considerations
Blending, flavour and flow.
These variables are developed and tested before scale-up so the first commercial batch matches the samples.
Blending and homogeneity
Low-dose actives in a large blend must be evenly distributed. Particle size, blending order and time are set with the partner.
Flavour and sweetening
Flavour systems and sweeteners shape taste and label. Natural options can limit flavour choice and change cost.
Solubility and mixability
How the powder disperses in water or milk affects the consumer experience and may require specific raw-material grades.
Flowability and dosing
Flow affects fill accuracy and scoop consistency. Some blends need flow aids or a different filling approach.
Single-serve vs multi-serve
Stick packs give exact dosing and portability; jars and doypacks give lower cost per serving.
Partner-dependent variables
MOQ, batch size and lead time.
These depend on the partner, the blend and the pack. We explain what drives them and compare real quotes instead of quoting generic figures.
- 01
Minimum order quantity
Set by blender size, pack format and the number of flavours. Several flavours split volume across batches.
- 02
Batch size
Matched to blending capacity and forecast, balancing unit cost against stock and shelf-life.
- 03
Lead time
Driven by raw materials, flavours, packaging components and production slots, planned together.
- 04
Unit cost
Shaped by formula, serving size, flavour system and pack — compared per serving, not only per unit.
Packaging
Packaging and barrier.
Jars and tubs suit larger sizes and retail shelves; doypacks and pouches reduce material and shipping weight; stick packs suit single-serve and sampling. Each needs a scoop, closure or seal specified for the product.
Hygroscopic blends need an adequate moisture barrier and sometimes a desiccant. The pack material, the filling line and the powder are chosen together.
Quality & documentation
Specification, documentation and release.
Each powder is produced against a written specification covering ingredients, serving size, appearance and finished-product limits. Raw-material documentation and certificates of analysis are reviewed before production, and the batch is released against the agreed specification.
Quality systems and certifications are held by the relevant manufacturing partner and checked against the product and target market before selection.
Quality framework
Standards represented across our manufacturing partners.
We work with certified specialist manufacturing partners and prioritise partners operating under relevant quality and food-safety standards. Certifications are held by the respective partners; applicability is confirmed for each product and manufacturing route.

Manufacturer selection
Choosing a powder supplement manufacturer.
Blending and filling partners differ widely in equipment and focus. We compare on:
- 01
Blending equipment
Suited to your batch size, ingredient count and homogeneity needs.
- 02
Filling formats
Jars, doypacks, pouches or stick packs — in-house or coordinated.
- 03
Flavour development
Capability to develop or adjust flavour systems with you, where needed.
- 04
Documentation
Quality system and certifications appropriate for the product and market.
- 05
Commercial terms
MOQ, unit cost and lead time compared on one specification.
- 06
Range handling
Ability to run several flavours or pack sizes efficiently.
Product route
Custom formulation or an existing formula.
Custom formulation
Your own blend, developed for flavour, solubility and production — specification signed off before manufacturing is placed.
Existing or partner formula
Where a suitable partner base formula exists, private-label powder supplements can reach the market faster. Availability is confirmed per project and category.
Manufacturing route
From brief to released batch.
- Step 01
Brief
Concept, dose, flavour direction, pack format, market and volumes.
- Step 02
Development
Blend, flavour and samples refined until the product is approved.
- Step 03
Partner comparison
Blending and filling partners shortlisted and quoted on one specification.
- Step 04
Production
Ingredients, flavours and packaging aligned to the production slot.
- Step 05
Release
Batch released against specification, packed and dispatched.
The AVENTRO role
How we place your powder product.
AVENTRO is not tied to a single production facility. We define the specification with you, shortlist specialist partners from our European network, compare them on technical and commercial fit, and remain your point of contact from technical transfer to released batch.
