Supplements — Magnesium
Magnesium supplement manufacturing, from form to finished product.
Whether you start from a concept, a brief or an existing formula, we define the magnesium form, dose and format, source the raw materials and place production with the specialist capsule or powder manufacturer that fits — then coordinate it to a packed, released product.
The category
Few ingredients. Many decisions.
Magnesium products look simple on a label, but the commercial result depends on decisions made early: which magnesium compound to use, how much elemental magnesium the serving should deliver, and whether a capsule or a powder carries that dose best.
Those choices drive raw-material cost, capsule count, taste, solubility and label wording. They also decide which manufacturing partner is the right fit — so we resolve them before production is quoted.

Formulation decisions
The decisions that shape a magnesium product.
Resolved with you during development, so every partner quotes against the same specification.
- Magnesium form
- Magnesium compounds differ in elemental content, bulk, taste, solubility and cost. The form is chosen against the product concept, format and target price.
- Elemental magnesium vs raw-material weight
- Labels declare elemental magnesium, but the formula is built on compound weight. The difference determines how much material each serving needs.
- Target serving
- The elemental target per serving, together with the form, sets the total fill — and whether it fits a practical number of capsules.
- Combination formulas
- Supporting ingredients such as vitamins or botanicals add value but compete for space in a capsule and affect taste in a powder.
Dosage-form options
Capsule, powder or tablet.
The format follows from the form and the serving. We compare the options openly before committing.
- 01
HPMC capsules
A vegetarian, taste-neutral format. Bulky magnesium forms may require several capsules per serving — a trade-off weighed early.
- 02
Powders
Carry larger servings in one scoop or stick pack. Taste, solubility and flavour system become part of development.
- 03
Tablets
Can hold dense doses in fewer units, through partners equipped for compression and coating.
Decision flow
From magnesium form to finished format.
Each step narrows the next. Together they define the specification a manufacturer quotes against.
01
Magnesium form
Compound chosen for elemental content, taste, solubility, bulk and cost.
02
Elemental share
How much of the compound weight is magnesium — it sets the material needed per serving.
03
Target serving
Elemental target × compound weight = total fill per serving, plus any supporting ingredients.
04 — Format decision
HPMC capsules
When the fill fits a practical number of capsules per serving.
Powder
When the serving is large, or a drink format suits the concept.
Ingredients & production
Ingredient and production considerations.
Variables we work through with ingredient suppliers and the manufacturing partner.
Bulk density and capsule count
Low-density magnesium forms take more volume per dose, increasing capsule size or count. Denser grades or a powder format can change the picture.
Taste and solubility (powders)
Some magnesium forms taste bitter or dissolve poorly. Form choice, flavour and sweetening are developed together.
Raw-material specification
Grade, particle size and documentation affect flow, blending and compliance. We source against a written specification.
Flow and blending
Fine or cohesive powders may need flow aids or granulation for accurate filling — which affects the ingredient list.
Label alignment
Declared amounts, ingredient names and any claims are aligned with the target market's requirements and the brand's regulatory advisers.
Partner-dependent variables
MOQ, batch size and lead time.
These depend on the selected partner, format and pack. We explain what drives them and compare real quotes.
- 01
Minimum order quantity
Set by batch size, format and pack. Lower minimums are often possible at a higher unit cost.
- 02
Batch size
Balanced against forecast, storage and shelf-life.
- 03
Lead time
Depends on raw materials, packaging components and production slots, planned together.
- 04
Unit cost
Driven by magnesium form, serving size, format and packaging — compared per serving.
Packaging
Packaging for capsules and powders.
Capsules can be packed in bottles, jars, pouches or blisters; powders in jars, doypacks or single-serve stick packs.
Pack format, closure, scoop and moisture protection are specified with the product and matched to the filling partner.
Quality & documentation
Specification, documentation and release.
Each product is produced against a written specification. Raw-material documentation and certificates of analysis are reviewed before production, and batches are released against the agreed specification.
Quality systems and certifications are held by the relevant manufacturing partner and checked against the product and target market before selection.
Quality framework
Standards represented across our manufacturing partners.
We work with certified specialist manufacturing partners and prioritise partners operating under relevant quality and food-safety standards. Certifications are held by the respective partners; applicability is confirmed for each product and manufacturing route.

Certifications are held by individual manufacturing partners where applicable. AVENTRO does not itself issue or hold these certifications.
Manufacturer selection
Choosing a magnesium supplement manufacturer.
The right partner depends on format, volume and documentation needs. We compare on:
- 01
Format capability
Capsule filling, powder blending and filling, or tablet compression as the product requires.
- 02
Raw-material handling
Experience with the chosen magnesium form and its flow and blending behaviour.
- 03
Batch fit
Batch sizes suited to launch volumes and growth.
- 04
Documentation
Quality system and certifications appropriate for the target market.
- 05
Packing
In-house packing or a coordinated packing partner.
- 06
Commercial terms
MOQ, unit cost and lead time compared on one specification.
Product route
Custom formulation or private label.
Custom magnesium formulation
Your own formula: form, dose, supporting ingredients and format defined around your positioning, then placed with the right partner.
Private label from an existing formula
A faster route where a suitable ready formula exists. Actual formula availability depends on the selected specialist partner and is confirmed per project.
Manufacturing route
From brief to released batch.
- Step 01
Brief
Concept or existing formula, target market, format preference and volumes.
- Step 02
Specification
Magnesium form, elemental target, format and pack defined.
- Step 03
Sourcing & partner
Raw materials sourced; specialist partners compared on one specification.
- Step 04
Production
Materials and packaging aligned to the booked production slot.
- Step 05
Release
Batch released against specification, packed and dispatched.
The AVENTRO role
How we coordinate a magnesium project.
AVENTRO is not tied to a single production facility. We define the product with you, source the raw materials, select the specialist manufacturing partner from our European network that fits the format and volume, and coordinate production through to released, packed goods.
Manufacturing formats
How it can be manufactured.
Services often combined with it.
